June Boom

Are you up for a challenge?
Join me for the June Boom!

The June Boom has three rules:

  1. Exercise every day in June. I'll be active for at least 30 or more a day.
  2. Start something you've been putting off. It can be anything, but for me it's biking, swimming, or anything that get me to shed some pounds.
  3. Be publicly accountable. I'll continue to use my blog, but will also incorporate Facebook, and Twitter. Just try to do anything that will help keep you on track.

Who's With Me????

Down By The River

I just felt like posting a quickie. I needed to get some what of a workout in today, and my son wanted to ride his scooter. So I thought going down to the river would be a great idea to kill 2 birds with 1 stone (what a terrible saying...lol)

We walked about 4km and I carried the damn scooter for about 3/4 of the way. It was still enjoyable though. I burned about 300 calories, and we even stopped for a round of Tic-Tac-Toe.....

I must say living by the river in a border town is probably one of the best parts about my city. Not too many people experience this on a daily basis....

Mental Monday's

Welcome to my weekly blog instalment called Mental Monday's. A day for me to bitch about something without putting it into my regular posts. You are warned. These posts I don't hold back, and sometimes involves a lot of swearing.

This week I have decided to put totally random shit that bother the hell out of me.....feel free to add any bitches of yours into the comment section!!!

1. What is with all the storms that we are having lately??? Can we please just have 1 full day of sun without it being ruined by a Thunderstorm/Tornado warning? I mean Judgement Day has come and gone, so what gives?

Ambassador Bridge - Windsor, Ontario Canada

2. People thinking Khloe Kardashian is fat.....I mean really?????....I think she looks amazing.....

3.  Justin Bieber...I don't believe I need to elaborate on this....

4. The movie "Something Borrowed". I read the book and it was awesome. I loved it, then hated it, then loved it again. Why did they have to go and ruin it by making it into a movie? This always happens, with the exception of Harry Potter. I loved all the movies, and still watch them over & over.

5. Yogurt. I am trying my best, and I force myself to eat it because it's healthy. I eat it, then I make this face like BLECH (if you can picture that) I don't know if it's a texture thing or what. I have tried with fruit, without fruit, added granola, you name it I have tried it.....if you have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

6. Bananas. Why do they have to be so over powering? I will eat a banana but that's it. Anything with banana in it...gross. For example you get a strawberry smoothie, and they ask if you want to add banana. When I drink it all I can taste is banana....same thing with banana splits....it totally ruins all the ice cream.
To continue with this bitch I want to add the "Banana Bunker". WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?. It looks like one of my dildo's.....they were wayyyyy off when they came up with this to protect your bananas. WHY IS IT RIBBED????

7. Not having a "Whole Foods" or a "Trader Joe's" or any store like this nearby, or even in the same country. If I want to go to either of these stores for my "healthy eating" lifestyle, I have to pay $8 in toll to drive to the United States (Detroit). Super Frustrating.

8. Bikini Jeans. WHAT THE FUCK??? If I seen anyone in person wearing these I probably would slap the shit out of them. It's bad enough when I see women that have their g-strings coming out of their jeans, but this is ridiculous....

9. Kim Kardashian's Engagement Ring. It is a 20.5 Carat diamond valued at 2 million dollars. I don't even have words to express what I am feeling. ARE YOU NUTS????....any nutcase is just waiting for a chance to jump out of a dark alley to cut your finger off. Did it really need to be that big?

10. In between sizes. Right now I am stuck in the 18-20 area. Why can't I get a size 19 pant? Yeah in a imaginary world that would be perfect. The 20's make me look like I'm carrying a load in my pants, and the 18's look like they shrunk in the wash. I can't win.

Just My Life

I would like to start this post by wishing my BFF Jason a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!......You have always been there for me when I have needed you, are supportive in whatever I do, and have loved me for who I am. You have been with me since "fat" Bonnie, and will continue to be with me throughout this adventure. I Love You, and may this year bring us some fun!!!!!!

Wow this week has been nothing short of interesting. We will start with some pics.....

My hubby & I stopped by Tim Horton's for a iced coffee (made with white milk instead) and a chicken wrap. I was greeted by my name staring back at me from the donut display. "Bonnie's Favourite".....let me just say I didn't get any cause this isn't conducive to my diet.

As we proceeded to wait for our wrap's to be made, I was looking into the soup area and noticed that one of the workers had written "Goat Meal" on one of the lids.....I proceed to voice my opinion loudly that I thought that was disgusting and why anyone would do that in a food establishment. Dan told me to relax that it was probably oatmeal and someone was trying to be funny. I personally thought it was gross, guess I was just being bitchy at this particular moment (what else is new?)

The wraps that we had at Timmy's were ok, so I thought I would try to recreate them during the week at home for a nice light dinner. I used whole wheat tortilla's, a romaine lettuce leaf, tomatoes, a piece of bacon, and some light mayo. I also made a cucumber & onion salad for the side. It was great & filling. I will definitely be making this again during the summer.

It has been raining A LOT in my city, to the point that we have reached a record breaking rainfall. So when the sun finally peaked out as I was sitting on my couch one day, I noticed that my little man is starting to get a sprinkling of freckles just like his mama. So of course I made him stand still so I could take an extreme close up of his face to capture the moment. You never know when & if they will go away. Mine have faded quite a bit, and my mom has lost her's (in her face) all together.

Most people don't know this about me, but I have a water bottle fetish. I know weird huh.....I don't know what it is but I have a million of them, and whenever I see them in the stores I actually stop and look. I also have a fetish for school supplies (that is another story). Anyways I purchased a really cute metal one this week, and it is my current water bottle for now....what cha' think?

Now if you notice that in the bottle there is a lot of aqua (or turquoise) This is my absolute fav color. My iPhone has a aqua case, my Macbook has a aqua case, and this week I went out and bought some aqua nail polish......LOVE IT!!!!!!!......It is called Turned up Turquoise by China Glaze....so hot.....

So other than getting the pot lights put up in the kitchen, and still waiting on the granite, that is pretty much my week, besides working. Last night I went to my BFF's for a late dinner for his birthday and got pretty tipsy off of one glass of wine. I have become such a lightweight since I have started dieting, because I don't drink anymore. Here is a pic of me at the end of the night.....not too bad considering....lol

I'm not wearing any makeup....don't judge
This week in the weight loss department was another grand slam!!!!.....I have lost 2.2lbs this week, bringing my grand total to 39.2lbs.....just shy of 40lbs (which I was hoping for) 0.8lbs is nothing though, but now I have to wait another week for my new sunglasses, and to check another thing off my list. Well at least that will give me something to look forward too next weekend, and some extra motivation!

Spider Man band-aid's....this is what happens
when you have a 6 yr. old boy in the house....

I also don't have any more news regarding my chest pains. I am not wearing the heart monitor anymore, and I don't have a doctor's appointment for another 2 weeks. When I hear something though I will let you all know. I did go off the pill as well. I know some of you were wondering, so maybe that will help, maybe it won't. It can't hurt to try though.

So until next week, here's to reaching my 40lbs loss and then some, posting a new bra & undie shot, getting some sunnier weather to go on some walks, and having my kitchen renovation done and over with....

Mental Monday's

Today is the 2nd instalment of my weekly posts called Mental Monday's. A day for me to bitch about something without putting it into my regular posts. You are warned. These posts I don't hold back, and sometimes involves a lot of swearing.

This week I would like to talk about Toning Shoes....

A cousin of my recently updated her status on Facebook regarding these shoes, and it brought up a shit storm of hatred on my part. These shoes are repulsive.

There are Reebok Easytone, Sketchers Shape-Ups, etc. Come on ladies.....WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU WEARING??????.....do you actually think these look good???? They don't even do what you think they are gonna do for your legs and ass.

I see you ladies walking around the mall in these and just laugh....you look ridiculous.

Whoever designed the boot version should be shot....
The fact that someone so pretty as Kim Kardashian promotes these God awful shoes makes me think that she is definitely in it for the money, cause she sure ain't in it for looks. I guarentee you she doesn't wear these out.....not on your life.
I mean are we looking at the same shoe here? I would rather wear socks and sandals in public (and we all know that is a huge no no)

May I repeat...THESE DO NOT WORK (and they're ugly as shit)....here is an article on Newsweek if your interested

Thanks for listening Peeps!!!.....

Oh and Happy Victoria Day to all my fellow Canadian Followers....May the weather be great for camping, and the beer keg never run dry!!!!!

Judgement Day

There are 6 of these posted around my city.

Well we are alive. God didn't come and bring the good ones to heaven and leave the rest of us to die. The rapture has passed......lol.....DID ANY OF YOU REALLY THINK THIS WAS GONNA HAPPEN?

I am catholic (not practising) don't get me wrong, but I think some people take this stuff way beyond.

Let me tell you something else, Justin Timberlake is hosting Saturday Night Live again tonight, if I would have missed that because of the Rapture I would have been pissed.

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

The world did lose a well known figure yesterday though....Randy "MACHO MAN" Savage. He was one of my favourite WWF wrestlers growing up during the Hulkamania phase. I raise my glass to you Macho Man and I'm screaming OHHHH YEAAHHHHH!!!!

OK on to the hospital update.....

I am still wearing a heart monitor, and taking it easy. I have still been having chest pains, but they have been pretty minor, and not nearly as often. I went for a check up on Thursday, and was told that my blood tests, and chest x-ray were normal. I'm still waiting on my heart ultrasound results though. I also am considering going off the pill, as a number of people have mentioned to me that a lot of my symptoms are similar to side effects of that. I did mention it to the doctor but he didn't seem to concerned, so I might just take it upon myself to do it anyways.

I'm still eating healthy though, I think that is what has helped me to have an amazing week. Yes I said amazing because not only did I lose the 2lbs I gained last week, but I have lost 1.8lbs more!!!!

Can I get an AMEN!?!...don't worry God doesn't judge....remember rapture?.....lol

Scrambled Eggs with mushrooms, tex mex cheese and  my Pico de Gaillo
Mini Meatloaf's
I got the recipe for the mini meatloaf's from TJ's Test Kitchen. I substituted the turkey for extra lean ground sirloin though.....I prefer red meat for things like meatloaf, meatballs, pasta sauce, etc. They were pretty good, but next time I think I might add a little more seasoning, and some worcestershire sauce.

I also was very well behaved at Adam's 6th birthday party.....I didn't even have any cake, even though there are pictures of me floating around on Facebook showing otherwise.....

I swear I didn't eat that bucket of icing
Here are some pics from the Birthday Party.....

I think I had just as much fun as the kids did, and it didn't cost me any calories.....lol

This week I think I'm going to start walking for a bit. I asked the doctor about it, and he said as long as I'm not overdoing it I should be fine. I actually miss being active. 6 months ago you would never have heard shit like that coming out of my mouth.

So my official weigh in this week is 246lbs. That's a loss of 3.8lbs this week.

My measurements have all stayed the same except I lost 1" in my hips (great spot to lose it)
So my total inches lost since February 1st are 26" overall.

I am 3lbs away from my next mini goal of 40lbs lost.....the sun is out and mama needs a new pair of Ray Ban Aviators!!!!!!

Dead & Bloated

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!

Little psychotic I know....

Look how happy I am....now if I could only get the signed copy.

I used the song Dead & Bloated as the title of this blog post because it is probably one of my favourite STP songs (next to Wicked Garden) It also represents the time when Scott "couldn't find himself, didn't want to find himself, he became invisible."

So I started reading it at lunch break at work yesterday, and finished it at home last night. All I can say is WOW....Famous People are just as fucked up as us regular folk. Scott has been through some serious shit.

Here is a little tidbit of the book without giving it all away:

  • Scott has lost many loves of his life.....both of his brother's passed away, one at a young age that was hit by a car, and the other of heart disease (which I think was brought on by drugs.) He also lost both of his marriages to divorce.
  • His mother is an alcoholic
  • He was raped by a boy that he went to high school with.
  • He say's it's been 8 1/2 years since he's shot dope, and almost 3 years since he's done coke. (not really sure if I believe this as he was pretty messed up at the concert)
  • His first band was called "Soi-Disant" meaning "self style" in French
  • He is pro-choice. When in high school a girl he had gotten pregnant decided to have an abortion. He was heartbroken
  • STP turned down an opportunity to open for Aerosmith
  • STP was influenced by Duran Duran (in my top 10 fav bands of all time!)
  • The design of the second STP album Purple, came off a package of China White (heroin) Scott picked up in a seedy spot in LA

My favourite quote from the book was:
"I light candles. They calm me, center me, remind me of a time when God sat in the center of my heart. Not that He's ever disappeared. The candles bring Him back. I need to light them, everyday and every night."
All in all I thought the book was good, not great. It was a superfast read, and I really don't think Scott went into enough detail. The minute it was getting good, it dies down again. Not Dead & Not for Sale is almost like a teaser for a longer, more detailed autobiography. Maybe in the next 10 years he will decide to put out another......

I still love you Scott no matter what.....xoxoxoxo

This video was the first time Scott took, and was messed up on pills. He said it was, and to this day one of his greatest performances. (1992)
