Damn George
George is visiting this week.....I'm not a happy camper (George is what I call my monthly visitor for all those newbies to my blog)
I'm retaining water.....what else is new
I'm still eating well though, and exercising so that's all that matters. I'm staying on track, AND I'm staying away from the scale this week cause I know it will just frustrate and deter me.
I weighed myself on Saturday though before George and I was pretty happy with the results....
I'm coming along nicely I would say. Slow and steady wins the race. Speaking of racing I also took another sweaty pic for you all......this is after my run, and a ab routine on the floor.....I almost fell over taking the pic.....it will alllll be worth it one day (this is what I keep telling myself)
Don't judge..... |
On another note....my 6 year old needed glasses. Now Adam is no regular kid, and he's like his mama when it comes to being
Tomorrow is a new month, meaning new beginnings, warmer weather, some wicked thunderstorms......and Adam's 7th birthday.....

Winning Loser
I like to win.....
I'm competitive like that. I've been busting my ass this week just to get a good head start. I don't think I'm doing too shabby....and it helps that Joe caved and had wings one night this week....hahahahah sucker!
Consider this another check in, to keep me motivated and accountable.....
The shirt I'm wearing in the pic below has the number 78 on it. This is significant to me as I was born in '78 but I also would like to lose 78 pounds......so I rocked it out on the treadmill with the shirt on yesterday for motivation!
I stepped on the scale this morning and took a pic.....proof is in the pudding baby!!!
On an unrelated note.....some littlefuck punk kid shot a bb gun at my front window last night and broke it.
Three police cars, 6 cops later, and no suspects.....lol
So help me God if I EVER catch the little shit that did it, his mother will be crying let me tell you. I am not above punching a teen in the mouth.....just sayin'

Check In
Just wanted to keep you posted....it's Day 2 of the competition and I'm staying strong....lol
I did some intervals on the treadmill on Sunday for almost 5K, and I did 3.5K yesterday with a ab workout. I've been eating well, drinking tons of water, and I'm hurting.....everywhere
Regardless I am determined to win this challenge....I'm a competitor and I hate to lose.
Proof is in the pics baby.....look at this contender!!!

The Cult Challenge
I am a huge fan of the band "The Cult".....the singer Ian Astbury's voice is fricken amazing. I have been a fan since I was 15 and discovered them through an ex-boyfriend......the only good thing I took from that relationship!
When I heard that they were going to be playing a concert in my hometown I was floored, so I obviously grabbed some tickets. Not just any tickets either, I payed extra for V.I.P....nothing better than being up close and personal with the band under the stars, and of course having access to a private entrance, private bathrooms and a VIP bar service didn't hurt either.
Now to explain the challenge part. If you notice in the above picture there are 4 tickets. The other 2 are for my dear friend Joe and his wife. Joe has been really supportive regarding my weight loss and decided to throw a challenge my way.
Being competitive in nature, any challenge whether it's big or small gets my blood going.
Joe wants to lose about 25lbs himself to get back into his "fighting weight" as he called it. He suggested that starting today we both work our asses off to lose that by June 2nd.
That's the day of the concert.
I told him that's crazy talk and there is no way I will lose 25lbs in 40 days.
Joe told me to try my best (he's such an awesome friend) and whoever loses the most by then gets to drink for free that whole night on the other (better save your dollars my friend)
.....and I'm not just talking about pop here people
p.s. I can drink like a fish, and mark my words it will be premium alcohol.
Challenge accepted....and if you're reading this.....
If anyone is wondering......

100 Reasons You Should Workout
Ok…..I know I have been neglecting all of you, trust me I have been hearing all about it from close friends and family. I’ve fallin’ in a funk again. These 20lbs I put back on have been really nagging at me, and I’m sure Easter didn’t help. So here we go again with no holidays in sight to screw me up. I have been at this for over a year now and technically I should be at or wanted to be at 175 lbs. Well I’m not and I only have myself to blame. I swore last summer was going to be my last fat one, guess not, but at least I still have time to lose some by then.
I need to stop swearing…….
Anyways……
I came across this list on SparkPeople and I wanted to share it with you. I figure if I use 1 a day for the next 100 days to give me a reason to exercise or be active I could lose at least 30 lbs or more.

Happy St. Patty's Day
Well good ol' luck of the Irish......I'm sure I have Irish in me somewhere as I'm one of the biggest mudbloods ever......
What's up with you all?
Me I'm down 10lbs....yup that's 10......back in my 230's and heading to where I left off my journey at 219.
I have been working my butt off and I'm back into my routine, with having Saturday's off of course, today being green beer!
So I have been back on the treadmill and working out with Jillian Michaels......

She's tough, but worth it.....I sweat like a mother.....
I am also back into my healthy eating routine.....the first week was tough getting back into it, but it was tough a year ago and I managed to do it then.
I also started to keep a daily journal. This is a new thing. It looks very similar to the pic below, with the tabs on top. I cut & paste, write how I'm feeling, and bitch about whatever. It's almost like my own personal blog that I can carry with me. It gives me the option if I want to share or not. I write down what I'm eating, no calories, or statistics. Just healthy eating and reading my body. Only weight....that's it.
As I raise my glass of green beer in salute to all my fellow bloggers......Have a safe & happy St. Patrick's Day!!!......and may your belly's be stuffed with corned beef and cabbage.....remember binging & purging is not allowed!

15 Minutes of Fame....Almost
So this past Wednesday I was at work checking my email when this popped up:
Hi Bonnie!
I'm an associate producer at The Dr. Oz Show, and we are looking for some huge fans of Hungry Girl in the NY/NJ/CT area for a segment we're going to be taping next week. Please shoot me an email at your earliest convenience to chat.
Many thanks,
(name withheld)Associate Producer, "The Dr. Oz Show"
I was about to delete it when I though "Is this even real?"
So I sent this reply:
Hi (name withheld),
Thank you so much for the consideration, unfortunately I reside in Windsor, Ontario Canada. Feel free to send me a plane ticket though and I will definitley be there to root on Hungry Girl....lol....She is one amazing woman!!!Bonnie
I bet not even 10 minutes went by when I received another reply:
Well Bonnie if you’re available we might be able to make that happen! I just love your blog!! If it goes over with my producer, we could fly you in on Monday night for the show on Tuesday, and then fly you back to Windsor on Tuesday night.
Let me know your thoughts.
At this point I got a little nervous and excited all at the same time. So I replied again:
This is what he said:
Already did! My producer is in. She’d be willing to bring you in from Windsor!! I came across your blog via a google search on weight loss.
Give me a call tomorrow (Thurs) after you speak to your employer about the time off: My direct line is (# withheld)
I thought about this, spoke to my husband, and even facebooked about it. It was an amazing opportunity for me and I have never been to New York. Those were the positives, the negatives were flying alone, and asking for time off at work from a job that I have been at for 5 months, and leaving clients that are depending on me to staff for them. In the end I had to decline due to my work schedule.
I called the associate produce back and declined. He was actually surprised & disappointed, but assured me that he is a huge fan of my blog, that he will continue to keep in touch for future shows, and will give me more notice next time for work purposes.
So that's it folks.......I was this close.......
On another note, on the same day I got the email, I also received a delivery of flowers at work from a client. The note said: "Thank you Bonnie for all your hard work"......This was the best thing ever!!!!!
Definitely put a smile on my face....it's nice to be recognized.
I would need to inquire about getting the time off of work before I could commit to anything.
Run it by your producer to see what he says.....
I am curious though how you came across my blog?

B.Y.O.C.
It’s Friday so that means it’s BYOC day – Bring Your Own Crazy….to questions we all answer in an effort to get to know each other better and to give our blog brains a break! Copy and paste to your own blog and ENJOY!
1. If you were going to scratch your ass in public, which cheek would you start with?
What a question to start with, considering I haven't done a BYOC in ages. First off if I "needed" to scratch my ass in public I would be looking for a spot where no one would see me do the deed. I guess I would just scratch where's it's itchy, not giving any favoritism to any side.....don't want the other to be jealous now would I?
2. If you were a fashion designer, what's the first item of clothing you'd design for yourself and why.
Ohhhh this is a tough one since my first loves are shoes and purses. How about a nice, sexy bra....that keeps the girls perky, but is still sexy when you take your shirt off for the reveal. The underwire doesn't dig, you don't get third tit, there are no indents in your shoulders and it doesn't have 4 clasps. I know there are bra's like this for the little ladies, but I'm talking about my torpedos. I mean I have finally graduated to a smaller size (46G to 40D) but still.....
3. Turn to your family or anyone next to you and ask them to describe you in 5 words and LISTEN to their answers.
My Husband said:
I really liked this question. Sometimes you wonder how people perceive you. I am a direct, forward, put it in your face kind of gal, so I think a lot of what they said about me gives me hope......lol
4. Summarize your week in blog land and in real life.
Real life has been crazy especially during my birthday week. I'm really busy at work (which is great) I'm back into my healthy routine with the eating right and working out, and I'm trying to make quality time for my family AND friends. I have been lacking in Blog land until recently but I really am trying to post more. Baby steps people!

Birthday Girl
So yesterday I turned 34.
It's not so bad, I'm still closer to 30 than I am 40.
I was born in 1978.....
- Dozen Eggs - $0.48
- Cost of a New House - $54,800
- Average Income per Year - $17,000
- First test tube baby was born
- Sony introduces the Walkman
- Dallas Cowboys won the Superbowl
Here are some pics from my birthday party.....don't judge...it was me, my hubby and 25 of my closest friends....the end of the evening was a blur, as you can tell from the last pic!
Car ride and ready to party! |
Still Sober.... |
Enjoying my Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake slice! |
Smashed with my BFF David, the other Birthday Boy |
Then still rocking my clip-in weave I took a couple pics for work when I was sobered up.....lol
On top of this wonderful night with my friends, another one of my good friends provided me with tickets to a NHL hockey game for my family and I. This was Adam's first time at a hockey game so I wanted it to be a surprise. Now don't get me wrong my blood bleeds black and orange for the Philadelphia Flyers....but Detroit is just across the bridge so Red Wings it is......
We all had a blast, hotdogs included......
....and just in case your wondering, I'm back on track working out...getting up early before work to run and do my ab routine. I'm down 6lbs and going strong. I promise once I get back down to my 219 I will start posting my weigh in's.
At 210 I will tell you what I got for the challenge.
Notice Adam in the background....he kept asking me what I was doing....hahahaha |
